I had a great time at Scarecrow Fest this year.  This is just one of many events held in the Fox River Valley that make this a great place to live.  There were lots of things for the whole family to see and do and lots of delicious food and treats.  If you happened to make it to downtown St. Charles, you were treated with a double dose of chills this year.  One from the scarecrows and one from the weather.

Below are a few pictures of my favorite scarecrows.

I hope you had a chance to enjoy the festival.  If not, be sure to mark your calendars for next year.

So what is there to do in these fantastic suburbs we call home?  Plenty!

I hope you had a chance to enjoy Swedish Days in Geneva this summer.  I went and had a great time.  Especially of interest to me was the Eco Fun Expo that was part of Swedish Days.  They had a lot of great ideas and products for going green.

Also this summer was the Concerts in the Park series put on by the St. Charles Park District and the Downtown St. Charles Partnership.  They provided free concerts on Thursday nights for all to enjoy.  What a great way to get out and enjoy those summer evenings.

Coming up this weekend, Sept. 11 through Sept. 13, is the Festival of the Vine in Geneva.  Local restaurants and other businesses will provide wine and food for the event which includes a variety of things to do including wine tasting, grape stomping, a flower market, a fall decorating demonstration, musical entertainment, and much more.  For more information, check out the Geneva Community Calendar at www.geneva.il.us/events/calendar.htm.

And just around the corner is the Scarecrow Festival in St. Charles.  It runs from Oct. 9 through Oct. 11.  Once again, there will be lots to see and do for the whole family.  The creative scarecrows are the main attraction.  But there will also be other things to do, including an arts and crafts show, musical entertainment and great food.  For more information, check out the Scarecrow Festival web site at www.scarecrowfest.com.

This is my favorite time of the year.  Have a great fall everyone!
